Ngatapa School is a small, rural school catering for learners from Y1-8. We are nestled amongst the rolling hills on the outskirts of Gisborne in a very picturesque setting including a swimming pool and a variety of outdoor spaces for learning and playing.

Our classrooms are spacious and well equipped with an array of fantastic resources to aid teaching and learning across the curriculum. We ensure that ICT is integrated into all teaching so as to prepare the students for their future. Because we have small class sizes we are able to cater for individual needs and the family atmosphere ensures that the children experience a caring and nurturing environment.

Being a green-gold enviroschool means that there are many opportunities for learners to engage with activities designed to make them more aware of their surroundings such as a school garden, garden for life, worm farm, and many recycling initiatives.

The local hall is situated on the grounds. It hosts a weekly playgroup as well as other community initiatives. It is also a very useful resource for the school.

As principal I practice an open door policy and encourage parents and the community to participate in the education of their children through regular school contact. I thank you for considering Ngatapa School and welcome your queries or questions.
